Modern Hobbyist was founded in 2016 by Celine DeMaesschalck as a creative outlet for her many hobbies.She began by selling a variety of handcrafted goods but soon transitioned to specializing in detailed wine region maps as her mixed-media watercolor paintings gained widespread popularity. Each original painting and digital print is skillfully hand-finished with layers of bronzy fluid ink and strokes of gold acrylic paint, resulting in truly unique pieces.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Celine also serves as a digital media specialist for wine shops, bringing together her passion for art and her expertise in the wine industry. With a bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University and a Level 3 Award in Wines from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), Celine possesses the credentials to navigate the world of fine wine with finesse. Her artistic work has garnered international recognition, including publication in David Beresford’s “Brothers in Arms” and being featured across all 48 episodes of the esteemed educational series, “WineMasters Class.”
