At Modern Hobbyist, our values shape everything we do—from the products we create to the businesses we support. 

 

1. Inclusivity & Equity

We believe in a society that prioritizes safety, dignity, and fair treatment for all. 

• We partner with businesses and suppliers that respect and uphold the rights of all employees, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or physical abilities.
• We do not support businesses that permit discrimination, harrassment or fail to recognize that positive impact of diversity in the workplace.
• We cultivate empathy and responsibility, considering how our actions impact all communities, especially those historically marginalized.

No Discrimination or Hate Speech

Modern Hobbyist does not allow:

• Homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise anti-LGBT+ content.
• Xenophobic, anti-immigrant sentiment, or racial discrimination.
• Sexist, religiously discriminatory, or other harmful content.

If any party licensing Modern Hobbyist products is associated with hate speech or derogatory material, the license will be immediately revoked with no refund.

2. Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing

We are committed to environmental responsibility and making choices that minimize impact.

• We partner with small businesses and Fair Trade-certified vendors for products made by a third party like apparel and printed materials. 
• We use environmentally responsible vendors that prioritize sustainability in their production methods.
• We incorporate second-use supplies in shipping, packaging, and production whenever possible.

3. Accountability & Integrity

Honesty and transparency are the foundation of our work. We value critical thinking and factual research over misinformation.

• We hold ourselves and our partners accountable for ethical business practices. 
• We believe facts matter and encourage well-informed decision-making.
• We prioritize the common good over individual or financial gain. (So, we'll probably never be rich 😂)

4. Respect & Appreciation for Migrant Workers

The wine industry, like many others, relies on the hard work of migrants. We recognize their contributions and stand for fair treatment and compensation.

• We commit to respecting and advocating for greater rights for migrant workers.
  
• We acknowledge their essential role in industries like agriculture, wine, and dairy.
